Make a work plan
A work plan is necessary to plan and coordinate the steps that you will need to take to implement the management interventions.
The work plan is used to define the implementation strategy. To ensure effective conservation of the genetic reserve in the long run, proper conservation measures need to be implemented. The implementation process includes the concrete steps that are taken to turn the management plan into the actions that help accomplish the objectives.
What should I consider in the work plan?
The work plan outlines the timeframe for executing the tasks, along with the resources needed, assumptions to be made, means of monitoring short and long-term outcomes, roles and responsibilities, and budget.
Generate the timeframe to execute the tasks. It should cover the full period of the management plan. Generating the timeframe involves listing and organizing the tasks, along with estimating their duration. This information can then be used to generate a Gantt chart which can help track individual task progress, see relationships amongst tasks, and identify which are critical or at risk.
For each task, assign roles and responsibilities to the staff.
To achieve the objectives outlined in each task, adequate financial, technical and human resources are needed, or the genetic reserve will be at risk of being ineffective.
