GR management into PA plans
The management plan of the PA should be adapted to ensure active conservation of the CWR resource.
In practice it is usually modest
Benefits
- Good way to minimize the costs of a GR operation
- These sites already have a long-term conservation ethos
- Relatively easy to adapt the existing site management to facilitate genetic conservation
Considerations
- Long burocracy associated to amendments or renewal of existing management plans
- Effects on: zoning of the PA, sectorial plans (e.g. visitor management), conservation plans of emblematic species
- Increased management costs
